Welcome to this week's newsletter, our final scheduled update from the club for 2016. Our regular newsletter will return week commencing 2 January - but there's still plenty going on during the festive period.
Looking back at the year, it's been a wonderful season with some memorable moments, none more thrilling than Danny Willett's shock Masters victory - the Sheffield man becoming the first Briton to triumph at Augusta in 20 years. Will that be enough for Danny to claim the 2016 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award on 18 December?
Then there was Justin Rose's Olympic Gold. There's no better ambassador for the game than Justin, his performance in Rio and the manner in which he embraced golf's return to the Games was first-class.
And despite Team USA wrestling back the Ryder Cup, that too was some spectacle. Over to you Mr Thomas Bjorn to orchestrate revenge in France.
The 2017 club diaries are ready for collection in the pro shop.
Anyone who asked their handicap to be reviewed at this year's meeting will receive notification of any amendments that have been made by letter in the next few days.
Congratulations must go to Nigel Fuller and Kevin Stocker for winning the men's betterball with an impressive 48 points!! Christine Gibbons won the ladies stableford this week in tough conditions with 34 points.
