PING Glide 2.0 Wedge

Precision-milled faces with sharper groove edges than any previous PING wedge dramatically increase the spin rates and your trajectory control, which should make your pitching more predictable for better consistency.

Key features and benefits of the Glide 2.0 include:

- Sharper edged grooves create more friction for improved spin control
- 46-52° grooves are shallower for optimal spin on full shots
- Lower lofts also have additional groove to further increase spin
- 54-60° grooves are deeper to impart more spin on chips
- Higher lofts also have two extra grooves for more spin on chips and lobs

Are golfers fore-going safety?

It's time for a rant. From our very first adventures onto a golf course we're encouraged, not demanded, to scream 'fore' if our ball is going off line. We've all had to do it, both for ourselves and playing partners, when we see a miss-hit flying towards another golfer on the course who we're frantically hoping would just move out of the way.

So why is it that when the tour pros skew one left or right, where hundreds of spectators are lined up along the edge of the rough, do they not see the importance of shouting 'fore'? Take Pat Perez for example. On Sunday he saw a stray tee shot clatter into the head of a spectator on the 12th, before firing another loose drive into the leg of another spectator on the 15th. And guess what - no shout of 'fore' on either occasion.

Perez isn't in the minority either, it happens far too often. Shane Lowry's tweet (seen above) hits the nail on the head. Let's hope more players follow his mindset.

GolfSixes

Aiming for a younger demographic

The European Tour have introduced some innovative ideas for the season ahead. The World Super 6 combined 54 holes of stroke play with a final-day knockout, whilst GolfSixes, which takes place later in the year, sees two-man teams battle it out over six holes in a group stage, before progressing to a final-day knockout.
