Gone with the wind
The weekend's European Tour action was a rain-affected affair in Madeira. You'll often read articles about how to control your ball flight in the wind and if you can add a new shot or two to your armoury then you'll be a better player for it.
A quick tip for you: to produce a slightly lower flight so your ball doesn't lose its penetration, move the ball back in your stance and focus on making a normal swing. It sounds simple but it's worth practicing this on the range and noting the change in trajectory which results from your hands being slightly ahead of the ball through impact.
Master this and the next time the wind gets up midway through the monthly medal and you won't have the fear. You may even relish it!

With The Masters approaching rapidly and the weather slightly improving it seems that everyone is a little keener to start playing golf after what seems a long winter.
We have had a busy few weeks with all our new stock for the summer arriving, with new ranges of clothing for men from FootJoy, Oscar Jacobson Tommy Hilfiger and Oakley, as well as new ranges arriving for the ladies from Tommy Hilfiger and Rohnisch.
A very popular new item this year seems to be the Callaway shoes, the shoe range starts at £49.95 up to £120 but some great styles and colours so please have a look next time your in.
You may have already seen that we have a Masters draw in the shop at the moment, £2 per player, this is filling fast so please call in soon to avoid disappointment.
Please note that club knockout entry fees need to be paid by Sunday to go into the draw, anyone failing to pay will not be entered (this does not include the Seniors or Ladies Knockouts).
We still have a few gaps in the Bank Holiday Easter Texas Scramble, if you wish to play please put your name on the start sheet located on the main notice board. Open to male and female members with handicaps.
